Trust & Safety Connect is hosted and attended by the Internet Dating Excellence Association (IDEA) and Online Social Community Association (OSCA). This is a 1.5 hour long event that is by-invite-only and will take place on Wednesday 18th May starting at 11:30am EST (New York time). The event starts with a half-hour of peer networking followed by a 50 minute panel, and then an additional short networking session.

Norman Petty joined The Meet Group in March 2021 and is General Counsel. He leads the trust and safety team which is responsible for ensuring the safety of millions of active users across The Meet Group properties and on vPaaS partner apps. Â
Prior to joining The Meet Group, Norman spent the last 25 years as SVP and Associate General Counsel at The Wall Street Journal / Dow Jones. Â

The mission of the Global Anti Scam Alliance (GASA.org) is to prevent consumers worldwide from getting scammed. ScamAdviser.com is the global blacklist for malicious websites and sees 5M+ visits a month from consumers.
He was head of e-commerce at Bijenkorf (an upmarket dept store chain), TUI (Europe’s largest travel organization), online publisher at Sanoma Media (the largest media company in the Benelux).

He also founded eVentures Europe and vZine. In 2011 he set-up the Ecommerce Foundation to foster global digital trade and from 2013 – 2017 he was Director of Research & Advice at Thuiswinkel.org (the Dutch Ecommerce Association) and Ecommerce Europe (the European Ecommerce Association with 25.000+ members in 20 countries).
He is also e-commerce professor at the University of Applies Sciences, TIO.
Steve spent 27 years as a Director at The FTC responsible for 11 U.S. states and managing a 20 person law office focused on federal court civil cases against consumer fraud internationally.
Steve knows the trends in scammer activity and can advise on what he is seeing happening now, and changing in the future.
Steve also spent the last 5 years working with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as an International investigations specialist.
Mark is SVP of OneRep.com which helps consumers and employees protect themselves online.
Mark is the former CMO of Gooten, a smart supply chain solution for brands, retailers and eCommerce merchants looking to leverage print-on-demand manufacturing and drop-shipping.
Before joining Gooten, Mark founded Screen Stars, a virtual childcare and distance learning support.

Mark also served as the CMO of Wrench, the market leader for on-demand car care directly to your home or office.

Mark is also a Venture Partner at Arrowroot Capital, where he focuses on investments in SaaS. He's also the Executive Director of the UCLA Venture Capital Fund, supporting innovation by young entrepreneurs.
Mark runs Courtland Brooks, an agency-consultancy focusing on strategy, marketing and bus dev for Internet dating and online social communities. He's served POF, Meet Group, and 120+ companies since 2005. Prior to this, he worked with Friendster and ran an adventure club in Silicon Valley. Mark has been quoted in press 288 times (18 times in WSJ).Â
He heads IDEA.gp (since 2007) & OSCA.gp, hosts LTR, and the executive news summary services Online Personals Watch (since 2004) and Very Social Network (since 2006). He also owns Matchmaker.com.
